Using iFollo
1. What is iFollo?
iFollo provides a fan-driven online community that allows real people to contribute stories, pictures, and videos about their personal experiences with celebrities or famous teams and groups.
2. How do I search for celebrities?
To search for a celebrity start typing the name of the person you are looking for in the search box in the top right corner. Any celebrity that is currently in our database will have a profile that will auto-display in the search box.
3. How do I choose to follo only the celebrities and teams I care about?
To follo a celebrity, group or team you just click on the "follo" button beside the name of the celebrity you want to follo. This celebrity, group, or team will be added into your personal group in the middle of your home page. You can also see a full list of who you are follo-ing on your profile page.
4. How do I report inappropriate material?
To report inappropriate material simple click on the "Report Abuse" button that appears beside all contributed content.
5. How do I report a bug?
If you discover a bug on the site please use our Contact Us page to report the error, and please also supply a URL to the page you found the bug on so we can find it again.
Account Information
1. How can I change my screen name?
Unfortunately, the screen name you choose when you sign up cannot be changed, so please make sure you are happy with your screen name when you register!
2. How can I change my account details (email address etc)?
Go to your "Edit Settings" on your "Profile Page" to edit your personal details.
3. How can I close my iFollo account?
To close your account please email us and it will be closed by our site administrators. Please note that stories and comments you have added under this account will not be removed, but your user name will be changed to display "anonymous".
4. What do I do if I forget my Password?
If you have forgotten your password use our handy Get password link to get a new password emailed to you. You'll see this link on the right hand side of every page under the "Sign in" button. Just look out for "Forgot password? Get password"! To use this handy feature you'll need to know your username or the email address registered against your account. Unless you changed your email address on ifollo it will be the email address you first used to set-up your account.
5. How do I change my Password?
Chances are you will want to change the password from the random one generated by ifollo, to one that is slightly more memorable. To Change your password, first click on the "My Profile" link in the user navigation panel to the top right of your page. Next, click on the "edit profile" text link which is on the top right of the middle panel beside your profile details. It has a small blue pencil icon to the left of it. You will now be taken to you a page displaying your Account Information. To change the current user password, enter the new password in both fields (New Password and Confirm New Password). That's it! Don't forget to save your changes using the save button at the bottom of the Account Information pane.
6. Who do I contact if I can't get into my account?
If you still can't login, e.g. because you can't remember your email address or username and so can't use the Get password link, then please email us with as much information as you can provide, e.g. your username, email address and name and we will reset your password for you. We'll then email you with a link to access your account again.
7. Is it OK to have more than one account on iFollo?
Noooo! This site is about personal experiences with celebrities. It won't work too well if people are running multiple accounts. iFollo's Terms of Use requires one user, one account. You must also agree not to impersonate any other person or entity when registering, and not to create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.
8. Is my private information protected?
Yes it is secure! Furthermore we will not sell or give away your personal information to any other third party without your consent. However, iFollo may share your personal information with its parent, subsidiary or other affiliated entities, and it may transfer your personal information to a successor entity as part of a restructuring, merger or sale of its business.
Information you give about yourself and Content that you may post on the Website is subject to our Privacy Policy.
9. Can I change my homepage to only show certain celebrities?
Of course you can. The accordion in the middle of the home page is fully customizable. That is the purpose of the site - follo only the celebrities YOU want to follo. When you "follo" celebrities they are added into this accordion, split out into categories for easy browsing. Only the celebrities you want to follo are in the accordion.
Stories
1. How do I add a story to iFollo?
To add a story click on the "Create Story" link in the user navigation panel to the top right of your page. This will bring up our easy to follow story submission page. Enter the name of the celebrity or group or team in the celebrity field. Make sure a profile already exists for this celebrity.
When putting in a title for your story it pays to come up with something that describes the encounter, but is also intriguing.
When writing your story, try to make sure your celebrity encounter is full of details and descriptive language portraying details such as what they were doing, who they were with, how did the meeting make you feel, etc.
To add an image us the browse button and navigate to where the image is on your computer. Make sure you press upload afterwards!
To add a movie link you will first need to upload your movie to one of the many third party services out there (YouTube, Vimeo, Myspace etc) and then simply copy the link for the video into the field provided.
One of the great features of ifollo is that follo-ers can see how real people rated their celebrity experiences, so don’t forget to rate your experience. We use a start rating of 1 being not very, and 5 being extremely. Click on the star that best describes that attribute of the celebrity.
Finally make sure you categorise your story type so people can filter stories by story type category.
2. I have a story that I want to submit, but there is no Celebrity Profile for it. Can I create a Celebrity Profile?
You can easily add a Celebrity Profile or Celebrity Group or Team Profile yourself. See the "Profiles" section below for details on how to do this.

3. How can I delete a story I submitted?
No you can't delete a story yourself. If you have posted a story you would like removed please email us with a link to the story and a valid reason for it's removal. If we consider it a valid reason we will have your story manually removed by our site administrators.
4. Someone's abusing me or my story in comments, what do I do?
Don't retaliate, as this will usually start a flame war, which is no good for anyone. If someone is being an idiot report the comment and our site administrators will address the situation.
5. How can I report an offensive story?
Click "Report Abuse" to alert us to the story in question. You're can also contact us directly quoting the URL and we'll look into it.
6. Can I change my rating of a story?
Yes you can - simply click the opposite thumb icon to the one you clicked originally.
7. Do I have to include a photo or video when posting a new story?
No. While we prefer it if you do have an image or video to accompany your story, if you do not have one the default image from the celebrity profile that you are writing about will show against the story.
8. How do you edit a story or photo that you have posted?
You've posted a story! Fantastic! But you have just realized that you need to change it for some reason, or maybe you forgot to add your photo.
Either way, no problem. Go to the story you have written. Underneath the story images, you will see a tab that says "Edit This".
You can only see this tab if you are the person that wrote the story.
By clicking on this tab you will bring up the editable information for the story so you can fix your typos or add an image.
Comments
1. Can I edit or delete a comment/reply I made?
No you can't delete a comment or reply yourself. If you have posted a comment or reply you would like removed please email us with a link to the comment or reply and a valid reason for its removal. If we consider it a valid reason we will have your comment or reply manually removed by our site administrators.
2. Someone's abusing my comment in the replies, what do I do?
The same as with comments, don't retaliate. There are a lot of jerks out there trying to start an argument. If you think the reply is particularly out of order, report the comment or reply using the "Report Abuse" button and our site administrators will address the situation.
3. How can I report an offensive comment/reply?

Profiles
1. What if I do not find the celebrity or group I am looking for?
If there is no celebrity then there is no story that currently exists about that celebrity. You can easily create a Celebrity Profile or a Celebrity Group Profile.
Simply add the name of the celebrity, upload a photo if you have one, and include some basic information. Easy!

2. How do I create and add a new celebrity or group/team if there is no profile for them on iFollo?
Creating a Celebrity Profile or a Celebrity Group Profile is a very simple process. Add the name of the team or group, and then use the intelligent search option to add any members that have existing iFollo profiles. Preferably you will also have a picture or logo, but it's not required. Once you have filled out what information you can, add the profile and you are all done!
3. How do you edit a profile that you have added?
You may have added a profile for a celebrity that was not already on the site, and want to add some more details. Or, maybe you've noticed that on an existing profile their birth date is wrong. Whatever the case is, you do have the ability to edit a profile.
To edit a profile got to the celebrity profile page detail. Underneath the profile you will see a tab that says "Edit This".
By clicking on this tab you will bring up the editable information for the profile.
Here you can edit all information in the profile except the name. This is because there might be stories assigned to this profile, and if we allow people to change these names it will seriously muck up the website!
If you do notice that the name in a profile is incorrect then please email us and our administration team will fix the error.
4. How do I add a celebrity or a celebrity team or group to multiple categories?
To add a celebrity to multiple categories, go to the celebrity you are wanting to edit and click on the 'edit celebrity' link underneath the picture of the celebrity. Using the dropdown underneath the 'Categories' heading, select the category you want to add the celebrity to and click on the 'Add' button next to the dropdown. Once you have added the celebrity to a category, you will see it appear underneath. If you want to remove the celebrity from a category, click on the 'Remove' link next to the Category name.
Once you have finished entering the celebrity details don't forget to press save!
Rating Stories
1. How do the ratings work?
iFollo uses a simple thumbs up/thumbs down rating system for stories. Each user gets one vote per story. Looking at the thumb rating against stories can immediately give a sense for the community's opinion of a rated story. The more thumbs up a story gets, the higher it is promoted according to popularity. You can change your vote at any time.

1. Can I use iFollo on my mobile?
Currently iFollo works on all standard browsers, so will display on any phone with a decent web browser, but there's no specific mobile optimized site as yet. We are planning an iPhone release in the near future.
