Right around the time I accepted my first full-time radio position in Lima, Ohio I scored some tickets to a George Thorogood show in Columbus, Ohio at my favorite venue there called The Newport Music Hall. It is truly a great venue to see live music, very intimate. My girlfriend and I made it all the way to the front. We were mere inches away from one of my favorite performers of all time.
I know this sounds weird, but George Thorogood put on one of the best live shows I have ever seen! They played all of his classic songs like Bad To The Bone, One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer, and Move It On Over. At some point early in the show my girlfriend, Emily asked if I saw what was on the back of George's shirt. I told here I didn't see it but I would look next time he had his back to the crowd. Sure enough in mid-rock, Thorogood turned around to reveal the graphic of a monkey hangin' on the back of his shirt. That my friends, is a badass novelty T-Shirt!
Be sure to check out George's official Website for all things Thorogood!
