About iFollo

What is iFollo?

"Real Stories.  Real People.  Real Celebrities."

iFollo is the most interactive celebrity news Web site available. It breaks down the barriers put up by publicists and rises above monotonous fan propaganda. iFollo truly satisfies the public’s craving to know about, and connect with, celebrities in sports, politics, fashion, music and entertainment.

People spend hours each day following the hottest stars, reading the latest headlines and looking at the newest pictures. Fans are inundated with more than 100 million celebrity fan Web sites. However, these sites provide little value, because they are primarily discussion boards and unstructured blogs, many of which have repetitive content. Most are created and written by professional editorial staff.

iFollo exposes the true personality and character of celebrities with real stories from real people about real celebrities they've encountered. iFollo also provides a broader and more balanced view of what celebrities are really like versus a one-sided, opinionated and often biased perspective from the paparazzi and professionally published media sources. iFollo’s unique approach to celebrity information gives fans a chance to read, watch and see their favourite celebrities in settings other than the red carpet.

Unlike traditional entertainment news outlets, everyday people are the news source. iFollo allows people to upload photos and video, and share their celebrity stories. Users can also rate celebrities by looks, smarts, arrogance and more. On iFollo, people follow the celebrities they care about, even local celebs; whereas, news outlets cover only those making headlines. Responsible celebrities also find relief in iFollo’s unique user-generated content with less gossip, fewer scandals and little hype.

The iFollo Story

Sitting on a patio this summer talking sports, Colin and a good friend discussed how frustrating it was to follow the multiple celebrities that interested them.  As an avid cyclist, Colin's interest in Lance Armstrong and the Tour de France had led him to navigate through a maze of blogs, fan websites and social networks, mostly full of sensational gossip.  He found his search to be extremely time-consuming and very frustrating.

On his drive home, it dawned on Colin that every day there were millions of fans around the globe having experiences with famous people.  Most of their stories would never make the front page of PEOPLE magazine, MTV, or ESPN, but would certainly be extremely interesting to read.  Leveraging a YouTube model, combined with the setup of Twitter, where you follow only the people that interest you, iFollo was born. iFollo is a place where you can read real stories from real people about real celebrities, catered to your personal interests.
